Our network of foster families works tirelessly to rehabilitate the homeless dogs and cats rescued through Saving Pups of Texas. These beautiful humans provide a safe place for these animals to not only physically heal, but also emotionally heal.

MEET MERCER
When Mercer was discovered slumped by a curb, his soon-to-be foster dad feared the worst. After enduring the intense Texas heat, he was found to be severely dehydrated and malnourished but thankfully still alive. We are so grateful to his foster family for being able to provide Mercer with a safe environment to heal while we began looking for his "furever" home. As you can see from his most recent pictures, Mercer is looking so handsome and feels much better! These stories would not be possible without our incredible network of foster families!

FOSTER OPPORTUNITIES
MOMS, PUPPIES & KITTENS
Fosters provide homes for pregnant and nursing moms, as well as newborn puppies and kittens until they are old enough for adoption.
ADULT DOGS & CATS
Fosters provide a temporary home for those pets not quite ready for adoption, until they are ready to head to their "furever" home.
SENIOR DOGS & CATS
Fosters provide a temporary home for those older pets who might be looked over in a shelter because of their age, until we find their perfect "furever" home.
MEDICAL DOGS & CATS
Fosters provide homes and medical care for those dogs and cats recovering from medical treatment or surgery. Medical expenses are paid by Saving Pets of Texas, you provide a safe environment for them to heal.
BEHAVIORAL DOGS & CATS
Fosters provide homes for those dogs and cats that might need some extra training or guidance before find their "furever" homes. Training expenses are paid for by Saving Pups of Texas.

GET STARTED
You can foster today, with no experience necessary! Fosters will receive support from Saving Pups of Texas staff, volunteers and community partners. All medical needs, including immunizations and spay/nueter will be taken care of through Saving Pups of Texas.

Our mission here at Saving Pups of Texas is rescuing dogs and cats from the streets and shelters of Houston then pairing them with their loving "furever" families. Bonds are created with every dog and cat we take in, but our goal is always to see them on their way home! We know we can’t save them all, but we sure will try.
