SUCCESS STORIES
Our mission here at Saving Pups of Texas is rescuing dogs and cats from the streets and shelters of Houston then pairing them with their loving "furever" families. Friendships are formed with every dog and cat we take in, but our goal is always to see them on their way home!
When our friends leave us, we're always curious how they're doing in their new homes so we'd love to hear updates on our SPOT families! Join the Saving Pups of Texas (SPOT) Family group on Facebook to stay in touch. Follow us on social media to watch for news and events.
MEET SULLY
It was love at first sight for Noreen and Dan when they saw Sully's profile on our PetFinder, and that love only grew once Sully was adopted and he made himself at home in both their house and in their hearts.
Sadly, about two months after Sully was adopted he was found to have a heart murmur. Doctors tried their very best, but Sully soon passed away leaving both Noreen and Dan devastated.
While Sully will ALWAYS hold a special place in their hearts, we knew someone who might be able to ease Noreen and Dan's heartache.
MEET ROCKY
As soon as Noreen and Dan met Rocky, they immediately bonded with him and felt that Sully had sent him their way.
To further honor Sully, his family has sent Saving Pups of Texas a monetary donation in his name. We thank them for this donation, but will forever be grateful to have known Sully.
"Sully was the most loving, kind, peaceful soul. "
MEET FRANK
Frank wasn't always easy to foster, due to being a highly energetic German Short Haired Pointer (GSP). His foster family was very patient with him, and he was able to connect with his new mom, Hailey, who knows all about GSP's and how to work and train with them!
Frank now goes EVERYWHERE with his new mom! He never meets a stranger, as everyone that meets Frank falls in love and is an immediate friend. We are SO PROUD of Frank! He is truly the best version of himself because he was paired with the human who was best able to help him thrive.
Our mission here at Saving Pups of Texas is not just to find each pet A home, but find them their FUREVER home! We do this by matching the right pet with the right family, so they can build the best possible bond.
MEET YOSHI
RENAMED ORLY
Yoshi was 8 yrs old when she came to us, and there were so many who told us she was "too old" to find her "furever" home. We didn't listen, and when a family in New Jersey saw her adoption post they absolutely fell in love with her!
Yoshi, renamed Orly, is now living her BEST LIFE with her new family that absolutely ADORES her! She rules the house, and goes everywhere with them.
She just recently tagged along to a Walk-a-Thon with a Costume Runway, where she won 2nd Place as a She Devil.
All of us at Saving Pups of Texas hope to make others see that EVERY dog has a chance at being adopted, no matter their age, their looks or even their medical condition.
MEET BELLA
Bella was adopted by Polly right here in Katy, TX as she was experiencing not only once loss but two.
"She has helped heal our hearts over the loss of Millie and Maya in such a short time. We still miss them so much but Bella has given us so much joy and happiness."
"We are super lucky!"
"She is so loving and good. I can’t imagine how she can be so wonderful after all she experienced in her short life."
MEET KLAUS
"Chris and I cannot get over the miracle that is Klaus. He in all honestly saved my life. Things with Samuel have been so hard and the “experts” were so awful about his future prognosis in 2022 (saying he will never leave home, never speak, never function on his own) that I became horribly depressed (suicidal even).
Nothing helped - not therapy nothing. I am not exaggerating when I say that Klaus saved my life!!!!! He is an absolute miracle and my constant companion. Chris thanks God for him daily - not even kidding. Not only is he amazing for me, but he is always there for our son, Samuel. It is like he is an emotional support dog without the actual training. He calms Samuel down during the meltdowns and night terrors. He lays right next to him when he’s anxious.
We are going next week for two weeks for interviews at the South Carolina school for the Deaf and Klaus is traveling with us because we all know we will need him.
Anyways, thank you will never be sufficient. But you are an angel and I know thousands of others have similar stories because of the incredible work you do! What you do matters and it not only saves furry lives but humans too" - Kelly
Klaus is our rock.
MEET SCOUT
Scout was actually adopted by Stacey's aunt, Linda, and he now means everything to her. He is always near, loves to cuddle and is ready to walk, play or just listen to her reading her Bible aloud. Linda's girls have always had and loved dogs, but this is a new, fresh love for her.
Scout and Linda go on walks late each afternoon, and he has now learned to bring her his leash when it's time for their walks! Scout is so smart that one day while mom was painting her nails she told him her new shade, "Strawberry Waves Forever," and he brought her his strawberry toy!
Scout gets to visit his friends at doggie daycare each Tuesday while his mom works the local food pantry, and all mom has to say is “Wanna go to Gimme a Bark?” and he knows where they're going! His visits to doggie daycare have helped with socialization they say he never sits down, is moving and playing all day!
"I thank God for SPOT every day! Scout is perfect for me! Thank you for choosing me to be Scout's Mom! I don’t know what I would do without him." - Linda
You can see Scout having a heart-to-heart talk with Santa, and Linda says he will be getting lots of presents this year because this sweet, lovable dog has definitely made it on the Nice List.
